Veg Manchurian – Famous Indo Chinese Recipe | How to make tasty Veg Manchurian like Restaurant at home| वेज मंचूरियन
Veg Manchurian generally consisting of a variety of vegetables in a spicy brown sauce. It is basically a creation of Chinese restaurants in India, and bears little resemblance to traditional Manchu cuisine or Chinese cuisine. It is said to have been invented in 1975 by Nelson Wang. He started from the basic ingredients of an Indian dish, namely chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilis, but next, instead of adding garam masala, he put in soy sauce instead, followed by cornstarch and the chicken itself. A popular vegetarian variant replaces chicken with cauliflower, and is commonly known as Gobi Manchurian. Other vegetarian variants include mushroom, baby corn, veggie ball Manchurian.
Ingredients
Cauliflower 1/2Cup
Cabbage 1/2Cup
Carrot 1/2Cup
Onion 1 medium size(Finely chopped).
Green Onion 1/4Cup
Green Beans 1/2Cup
Ginger Garlic Paste 1tbs
Green chilli 2 pieces(Finely chopped).
Tomato Sauce 1tbs.
Chilli Sauce 1tbs.
Soya Sauce 1tbs.
Salt as per taste.
All Purpose Flour 2tbs.
Corn Starch 1tbs.
Black Pepper 1/2tsp.
MSG 1/2tsp.
Cooking Oil for frying.
Water as per need.
Step by Step preparation of Veg Manchurian
Take a bowl and mix all the grated vegetables with all purpose flour, salt per taste and MSG.
Prepare a soft dough without using water.
Now prepare Manchurian balls for frying.
Take a pan and add cooking oil to fry the Manchurian balls.
Semi fry the Manchurian balls and keep it aside.
Now to prepare the gravy, take a pan and add 1tbs oil to it.
Once oil is heated add ginger garlic paste to it and cook it for 1 minute.
Now add chopped onion to it and cook it till it turns pink.
In the meantime prepare a thin paste of corn starch with water and keep it aside.
Now add all the sauces(Tomato, hot and soya) to it. Mix it well.
Now add the corn starch thin paste to it and mix it well.
Now add water as per need and let it come to a boil.
Now add the Manchurian balls to the gravy.
Add spring onions to it. Gravy Manchurian dish is ready to serve.
Important Tips:
To make the Veg Manchurian authentic and tasty, make sure you are using lot of vegetables and not using any water while creating the Manchurian balls.
