Chana Dal Paratha– Famous North Indian Stuffed Paratha Recipe | How to make tasty and authentic Chana dal paratha at home| चना दाल पराठा
Chana Dal Parathas are one of the most popular unleavened flat breads in the India part of the Indian Subcontinent and they are made by baking or cooking whole wheat dough on a tava, and finishing off with shallow frying. Chana Dal (gram pulse) Paratha is the one in which we stuff the paratha with the filling prepared of Chana dal. You can make this spicy as per your need. This can be used in breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Because of Chana dal, this is rich in protein and very healthy option.
Ingredients:
Wheat Flour — 250 gms.
Chana Dal— 100 gms.
Turmeric Powder— 1/2 tsp.
Cumin Seeds— 1/2 tsp.
Onion— 1 Small Size(Finely Chopped).
Ginger— 1 Inch.
Garlic— 3-4 Pieces.
Green Chilli— 4 Pieces(Finely Chopped).
Green Coriander Leaves— 2tbs (Finely Chopped)
Salt— per taste
Ghee
Water for preparing the dough and cooking the dal.
Step by Step preparation of Chana Dal Paratha
Prepare the Dough
Take the wheat flour in a bowl and add 1 tsp ghee and little salt and mix it well.
Now add water slowly and make a soft dough.
Coat it with little ghee and set aside for 20 minutes.
Step 2: Now Prepare the Filling.
pressure cook the daal with turmeric powder and salt for 3-4 whistle or till become soft.
Take a heavy bottom pan on the stove and add 1tsp ghee or oil let it become hot.
Add cumin seed cook for 20-30 sec.
Add chopped onion and cook for 2-3 min or till become soft.
Add crushed ginger +garlic +green chili and cook for 2-3 min.
Add boiled daal and mix it well ,cook for 3-4 min.
Add chopped coriander leaves mix well and cook for 4-5 min on low flame or till Daal will become thik/ dry. Stuffing is ready for Paratha.
Now prepare the stuffed ball for the paratha as shown below.
Roll the paratha and cook it in medium to low flame by putting ghee in it.
Cook it till you see brown spots on both sides of the Paratha.
Dal Paratha is ready for serving.
Important Tips: To make the Dal paratha tasty and delicious, we need to use ghee in place of any refined oil.
